B.4 Quantitative electroencephalography to predict post-stroke disability: a systematic review and meta-analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: We aim to assess the role of quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG) derived indices predict post-stroke disability. Methods: included observational studies (sample-size≥10) patients with stroke who underwent EEG and a follow-up outcome assessment was available either in form modified Rankin scale (mRS) or National Institute (NIHSS) Fugl-Meyer (FMA). QEEG analyzed were delta-alpha ratio (DAR), delta-theta-alpha-beta (DTABR), brain symmetry (BSI) pairwise (pdBSI). Results: Twelve (11 had only ischemic stroke, one both hemorrhagic stroke), including 513 participants for meta-analysis. Higher DAR associated worse mRS (n=300, Pearson’s r 0.26, 95% CI 0.21-0.31). DTABR (n=337, 0.32, 0.26-0.39). higher NIHSS (n=161, 0.42, CI0.24-0.6). (n=172, 0.49, 0.31-0.67). pdBSI inversely FMA (n=20, -0.50 -0.86-(-0.14)) BSI not (n=21, -0.3 -0.81-0.22). Conclusions: QEEG-derived have potential Adding clinical imaging biomarkers may help better prediction recovery. PROSPERO 2022 CRD42022292281

Post-stroke infection: A systematic review and meta-analysis
BACKGROUND stroke is the main cause of disability in high-income countries, and ranks second as a cause of death worldwide. Patients with acute stroke are at risk for infections, but reported post-stroke infection rates vary considerably. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to estimate the pooled post-stroke infection rate and its effect on outcome. METHODS MEDLINE and EMBASE w...

Background: Depression is one of the most commonly diagnosed mental disorders. Nurses and other hospital service providers are a group at high risk for developing depression. Thus, knowing the prevalence of depression among nurses can help the health care decision- makers to plan ad hoc prevention programs to control depression in this group. This study was conducted to quantitatively assess th...

BACKGROUND Apathy is a disturbance of motivation, frequent in survivors of stroke. Several studies have evaluated the rate of apathy secondary to stroke and risk factors. Different conclusions and contradictory findings have been published. We aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis of all studies evaluating apathy secondary to stroke to better estimate its rate and risk factors,...
